Luke Shaw
Shaw is recovering from concussion

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw will miss the club’s match against Watford to take the mandatory seven day resting period after recovering from a concussion.

Shaw sustained a head injury during England’s Nations League match against Spain after a collision with Dani Carvajal. He had to be stretchered off the field.

However, there were no ill effects and Shaw is fine. However, he will miss the Watford game.

England coach Gareth Southgate said that there is nothing to worry about and Shaw only needs to rest for a week.

Southgate said, “You never like to see an incident like that, that you can see is immediately potentially serious. He was obviously knocked out before he hit the floor. Our medical team dealt with that really well I think. He’s spent the last day with us for some recovery and he has gone back to his club this afternoon.

All being well, he has a mandatory seven-day period that he has to serve with the concussion, but he should be back in the fold as soon as that’s done.”

Luck has been pretty hard on Luke Shaw. In 2015, Shaw sustained a double-leg fracture during a Champions League match which kept him out for several months. Just when he was showing some strong performances at Manchester United, this head injury hit him.

However, we can always expect the 23-year old to come back strong and produce strong performances.

Shaw’s absence is a huge blow for Manchester United when they face Watford. Watford are yet to lose a Premier League match and defeating them on their own turf will be no cakewalk for Manchester United.
