Jarrad Branthwaite - Manchester United Defenders Target Signings

In response to interest in Everton prodigy Jarrad Branthwaite, Manchester United recruited a new center defender. The £62 million agreement that Manchester United struck to acquire highly-rated defender Leny Yoro to Old Trafford is said to have “emboldened” Everton’s position about selling Jarrad Branthwaite to the Red Devils.

Yoro came from Lille, and United signed him for an initial £52 million, with the remaining amount to be paid if applicable add-ons are reached. This move allowed United to recruit Yoro ahead of Real Madrid and Liverpool. This happened after the Toffees rejected two bids totalling £50 million that the Red Devils had made for Branthwaite.

Branthwaite, 22, is regarded as an ideal fit for the United rebuild, having previously worked with returning assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy during a successful loan spell with PSV Eindhoven in the 2022/2023 season.

Manchester United lining up another defender

Everton center defender Jarrad Branthwaite has already been the target of two unsuccessful offers from Old Trafford this summer, but Man United is still interested in him, according to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, who spoke to GIVEMESPORT. Everton’s attempt to sell Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for £50 million complicated United’s interest and lessened Everton’s desire to cash in. However, with the Freidkin Group’s failed Toffees acquisition, Branthwaite’s career is now in jeopardy.

Sheth claims that the England international is now a “live option” for Erik ten Hag’s team, but they would need to spend £70 million on a stadium to guarantee they add a strong new player to their backline.
