Rennes Chief Responds To Manchester United's Bid For Camavinga

It should come as no surprise that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim sought to add a midfield player to the team during the summer transfer window. The Red Devils will place a high priority on this position in future windows. Since then, reports have suggested that they are interested in acquiring Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, who would be one of the Red Devils’ greatest acquisitions in recent memory.

According to the CaughtOffside report, Camavinga has been valued at about €80 million (£68 million), and United is interested in a possible trade. According to the article, the Frenchman, who can play left-back or in a holding role, is now unsure of his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Frenchman’s circumstances have altered since Carlo Ancelotti was replaced in the dugout by Xabi Alonso, and his playing time has decreased, even though he isn’t definitely going to leave right now. United is reportedly showing ‘real and serious’ interest in the French star, who earns £260,000 a week, as a result of this.

United interested in Signing £69.7m Real Madrid Star

That might present a huge opportunity for United. They have added some quality players throughout the years, but their recent hiring has been a little weak. Bruno Fernandes was their most recent top-tier addition, having joined in January 2020. While they have added talent like Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Amad Diallo, none of them have yet to be considered “exceptional” beyond Fernandes.

Undoubtedly, Camavinga would alter that. Despite only being 22, he has already made 269 club appearances for both Real Madrid and Rennes, winning two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, two Champions League titles, and numerous Super Cups. He also participated in the World Cup final and lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout.

In those games, the star has provided 10 assists and scored four goals. Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is unlikely to allow him to go during the January transfer window since the team is hoping to win both the La Liga championship and the Champions League this season.
