Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaks on fresh criticism from the former Red Devils Cristiano Ronaldo. The Dutchman has responded to criticism from Al Nassr forward.

We all know how Ronaldo left the Old Trafford after making second debut. He moved to Saudi Pro League club in the winter of 2023. He is currently playing for Al Nassr and also actively playing for Portugal.

Ronaldo revealed that he felt “betrayed” by Ten Hag. He also added that Man United are “a long way away” from winning the Premier League and Champions League.

Ten Hag replied back on the former Man United forward. He said to reporters, “He said that, that Manchester United can’t win the Premier League. He said this if you read the article very well. He is far away in Saudi, far away from Manchester, so everyone can have an opinion and is entitled to have an opinion. It is okay.”

Ten Hag was supposed to leave the club at the end of the season this summer but he survived, thanks to FA Cup success. The reality is Erik ten Hag won two trophies for the club in last two seasons. His contract will expire in the summer of 2026.

The former Ajax manager also speaks on his future at Old Trafford and said, “We will see where we are in May. It’s very early in the season, it’s about winning trophies and being as high as possible. Do everything to win every game. We will see in May. It doesn’t impact me.

“I know where we are going, we are still in a transition period. We have to integrate a lot of young players and are still dealing with injuries. Before anyone says excuses, no, we have to win every game. The team knows this.”
