According to reports, Manchester United has reportedly secured the signing of Viktor Gyokeres to address their struggles up front under Ruben Amorim, so supporters can anticipate a big summer addition at the end of the season.
The Red Devils have had a terrible season, finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League and being eliminated from the League Cup in the quarterfinals. As a result, Amorim is looking to confirm signings for the upcoming season in hopes of having a successful league campaign. And because of this, there have been rumors that Gyokeres’ contract has already been finalized, which would greatly increase their numbers.
The Sweden striker’s availability at the end of the season has reportedly been discussed between United and Sporting. Despite Gyokeres’ €100 million contract release clause, Sporting has stated that they will accept a €70 million bid from United. Sporting views this sum as a reasonable asking price for the prolific striker.
Manchester United agree deal for Viktor Gyokeres
Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen, Mateo Retegui, and Gyokeres are just a few of the elite players that United has been connected to and will sign this summer. Since Gyokeres is close to manager Ruben Amorim, he seems to be United’s preferred option. During the 15 months that they spent together before the manager moved to United in November, the Sweden star was very productive under Amorim at Sporting.
Gyokeres is currently the most sought-after attacking asset in the world and is having a fantastic season, hitting 34 goals in 35 games across all competitions. This builds on his outstanding play from the previous season, when he scored 43 goals for Sporting across all competitions. Gyokeres is also of great interest to teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
At the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, Gyokeres is anticipated to be sold by Sporting so that the Sweden international can advance in his career. Amorim’s presence makes Manchester United the favorite to sign him because he has stated that he wants his new team to make a big move and acquire the striker.
