According to sources in Italy, Manchester United is very interested in signing Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, this summer. The Red Devils have apparently discovered what it would take to get Osimhen to Old Trafford and sent agents to Naples to discuss a possible deal for the Nigerian forward.

According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, some United executives, including Matt Hargreaves, director of football negotiations, have flown to Italy in recent days to speak with Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, about a move for Osimhen.

Rasmus Hojlund and €40 million (£33 million) are reportedly the asking prices from the Serie A winners for the 26-year-old striker, who was on loan at Galatasaray during the 2024–25 campaign.

Although Arsenal is a fierce rival and the Portuguese team values the striker at €80 million (£67 million), United is looking at other options. Ruben Amorim, who managed Viktor Gyokeres at Sporting CP, is still a big fan of the striker.

Man Utd chiefs told swap deal would be accepted for world-class star

Osimhen was up for grabs last summer and reportedly tried to sign contracts with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain before ending up on loan at Galatasaray.

He has had an incredible season in Turkey. As Galatasaray easily won the Super Lig, the striker played a key role, scoring 36 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

His contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and Napoli, who valued him at about £100 million last summer, is now reportedly willing to accept offers of about half that sum to guarantee his departure from the team.

According to an Il Napolista report, Hargreaves, who traveled from Manchester, met with owner De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna to talk about his possible transfer to Old Trafford.

According to reports in Saudi Arabia last week, Osimhen has agreed to a three-year contract to join Al-Hilal, who are scheduled to play at the Club World Cup this summer. The Saudi Pro League has also maintained interest in the striker after their attempt to sign him last year failed.
