Wolves star
Manchester United want to buy Ruben Neves

According to a source, Ruben Neves is prepared to return to the Premier League despite serious interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United. However, a writer has batted down rumours that the Red Devils may pursue a Premier League midfield player.

The Portugal international has been identified by Manchester United as a possible midfield acquisition. Neves is keen on a return to the Premier League and has given serious English suitors the green light to expedite a deal, according to CaughtOffside.

Al-Hilal is preparing for a January sale since Neves has declined to sign a new contract and his present terms expire in June. Prior to potential talks with Al-Hilal, Manchester United is “closely monitoring” his status; nonetheless, they will need to defeat Newcastle in order to approve the deal.

An update on the matter has also been given by transfer writer Ben Jacobs, who claims that INEOS has had “internal talks” over bringing Neves to Old Trafford.

Man Utd to make serious move to sign Ruben Neves

Man Utd will have to face fierce competition to close the deal, though, as the source claims that Newcastle United is also interested in him.

Despite playing in Saudi Arabia in recent years, Neves has continued to play an important part for the Portugal national team. He previously demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League when at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He is a seasoned player, and if Manchester United decides to get him, it may be a wise move. It would be intriguing to observe, though, whether the Old Trafford club takes a firm stance in January or the summer of next year to guarantee his service.

The Red Devils’ first goal is to sign a holding midfielder because Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte may both depart Old Trafford in 2026. Ugarte hasn’t been able to justify his high price tag since joining the team, while Casemiro will become a free agent next summer and hasn’t signed a new contract.
