Aston Villa has successfully signed Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on loan. Sancho’s loan agreement with Villa was almost finalized, according to a report published by The Athletic on Monday.
As part of the season-long loan agreement, Villa is scheduled to cover about 80% of Sancho’s salary. With the club having the option to extend by a further 12 months, the 25-year-old is entering the last year of his contract at Old Trafford.
In addition to the Old Trafford team’s interest in goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, The Athletic claimed on Sunday night that Villa was considering a transfer for Sancho. The circumstances of any possible Sancho deal must benefit the West Midlands club since Villa has been constrained by their requirement to follow UEFA financial standards throughout the summer.
After Marcus Rashford’s temporary move from United ended in the second half of last season and Leon Bailey left on loan to Roma, Villa is also searching for a wide winger.
Sancho moves to Aston Villa on loan
In order to improve Unai Emery’s terrible offense, Jadon Sancho joined Aston Villa on loan. Additionally, Sancho receives 80% of his £200,000 weekly salary from Villa. The performance of Sancho, for whom Villa has paid a loan fee, will determine the percentage of the loan fee Villa will pay.
The fact that Villa is the only side in England’s top four leagues without a goal is a huge plus for manager Emery. The 25-year-old Sancho had rejected Roma throughout the transfer window and was also a target for Besiktas and Juventus.
After Chelsea paid them £5 million for failing to complete their agreement to sign the England star during his loan stay last term, United was eager to let him go. Emery is a huge supporter of Sancho, and it is said that the youngster discussed the team with Marcus Rashford, the former Villa loan star.
To mark Sancho’s arrival, Villa released a statement that said, “Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.” The England international is on loan at Villa for the duration of the season.
