Ruben Amorim- Man Utd Manager

A second source claims that a deadly striker is prepared to move to Old Trafford, giving Manchester United a significant boost in their pursuit of the player. Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim has fulfilled his dream.

Man Utd has set out to improve for the 2025–26 season after suffering through a terribly disappointing season in which they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and finished 15th in the Premier League table.

Matheus Cunha was already acquired by Manchester United from Wolves, and manager Amorim plans to use the forward from Brazil as one of his two number tens.

During the summer transfer window, the Red Devils are also negotiating with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo, a winger. With neither Rasmus Hojlund nor Joshua Zirkzee demonstrating the prolific shooting ability required to contend with teams like Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, Manchester United is also searching for a new striker.

Man Utd get green light to sign Viktor Gyokeres

The stated asking price for Gyokeres, who turned 27 on Wednesday, is about £60 million, which is a lot less than the £85 million release clause in his contract. Manchester’s asking price would seem reasonable considering Manchester United paid £72 million for Rasmus Hojlund in 2023.

However, it will also be necessary to consider Gyokeres’ wage demands and agent costs. Despite only making £39,000 a week at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, the striker has scored an incredible 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting and is believed to demand a salary of more than £250,000.

The Red Devils want to sign Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford for a comparable fee to the £62.5 million they paid for Matheus Cunha. There is space in the squad and on the pay bill for more signings, though, since a number of departures are expected throughout United’s forward line this summer.

Gyokeres has the potential to be the ultimate statement addition, one that can propel United back up the table after an incredibly disappointing campaign. However, like so much else at Old Trafford these days, any change will involve treading carefully with money. Whether it succeeds or fails, there will be serious and inevitable repercussions.
