After reports circulated that the team intends to let go of both Antony and Jadon Sancho this summer, the Old Trafford team is said to have “entered the fray” regarding the possible signing of Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Manchester United may profit because they now know that Barcelona is open to receiving proposals for the winger. While Aston Villa and Arsenal are keeping an eye on Raphinha, it was revealed on Tuesday that Manchester United was putting together an offer for the Brazilian star. Part-owner of Manchester United, Ryan Ratcliffe, has been informed that Barca will sell Raphinha in the event that a bid of €60 million (£51.4 million) is received.
Latest on Man Utd’s transfer target
According to the report, the La Liga giants are trying to raise money by selling the 27-year-old Brazilian, who they acquired for £55 million from Leeds United back in 2022, as the player is not expected to play a big part at Camp Nou the following season.
Similar to Fernandes, the wing wizard was once employed by Sporting, where they lined up together in the 2018-19 campaign. Raphinha scored 14 goals during just one season in Lisbon out of just 41 games played before leaving for Rennes. Raphinha, a possible dream acquisition for Fernandes in the locker room, would also be an ideal addition on the field, assisting the Red Devils in determining a long-term right flank option at last.
