Manchester United has reportedly reopened negotiations to finalize a deal for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. This summer, the Red Devils have already brought in two players: promising French center-back Leny Yoro from Lille and Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
Matthijs de Ligt was rumoured to be the next player to leave Bayern Munich, but negotiations between the two teams over a transfer fee appear to have stopped when the Dutchman agreed to personal conditions. Spain’s reports suggest that Man United is once again interested in Barcelona’s De Jong. The headline reads, Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag and Barcelona president Joan Laporta have closed the deal for the Netherlands.

Since Scott McTominay’s future is uncertain, United must immediately expand their midfield alternatives once more. Fulham has expressed a strong interest in McTominay and is anticipated to make a better second bid for him. Two other players whose futures at the club after this summer are in serious doubt are Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
The report says that there is a clear understanding between the two parties and that Manchester United can pay more than €80m (£67m), but it does not specify how much has been agreed upon.
Man United has reopened negotiations for De Jong after it appeared that interest had waned. Ten Hag is looking to add a high-end midfield partner for Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, and the Netherlands international is the player of choice.
