Top 5 Manchester United defender transfer targets this summer Matthijs de Ligt

In a deal valued at £42 million, Manchester United is allegedly in talks to acquire 24-year-old Dutch center-back Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. Manchester United has reportedly expressed interest in Matthijs de Ligt, according to Nick Semeraro.

The Bayern Munich defender will join the Red Devils during the summer transfer window if they agree to pay £42 million in installments. In the meantime, the 24-year-old center defender will agree to a five-year contract at Old Trafford that would pay £170,000 a week.

Despite the delays, it looks like the transfer will soon be finished, as was originally planned for the weekend. With Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain and Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna also being targeted to boost the squad in defense, midfield, and attack, respectively, De Ligt’s arrival may be a part of a major personnel overhaul at Old Trafford.

Man Utd transfers: De Ligt, Tah could join in double swoop

De Ligt might team up again with Erik ten Hag, the Ajax coach he worked under from December 2017 to July 2019. A quality defender will probably follow De Ligt to Old Trafford this summer as Ratcliffe looks to upgrade Man United’s center-back options. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof might follow Raphael Varane.

Man United has identified Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen as a potential Yoro substitute, according to German reporter Florian Plettenberg. The Red Devils have reached out to inquire about Tah’s willingness to join them and the asking price Leverkusen is willing to accept for his services.
