Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is encouraging transfer interest from Atletico Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is still up in the air, and Erik ten Hag is running out of time to include the seasoned star in his preseason preparations.

Cristiano Ronaldo is being questioned by Manchester United this week about when he can begin working out with Erik ten Hag’s team.

According to The Times, Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, allegedly approached Ronaldo and left him “impressed.”

Despite being the club’s all-time leading scorer, the 37-year-old is prepared to compromise his relationship with Real Madrid in order to secure a transfer.

In order to make room for his arrival, Atletico Madrid are prepared to unload Antoine Griezmann, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich reportedly staying out of a potential transfer.

According to some sources, Ronaldo might get a loan from United if he exercises the one-year option provision in his contract, which would allow him to return to the team in the summer.

The players will get Monday off the following week after their trip to Australia.

On Saturday, United will play in Norway against Atletico Madrid, and on Sunday, Ten Hag’s team will host Rayo Vallecano. That will be the final friendly before the 2022–23 season.
