Man United interested in signing Lille defender Leny Yoro

Leny Yoro is expected to join Manchester United for approximately €45 million ($48.7 million) from Lille, despite strong interest from La Liga winners Real Madrid, sources informed ESPN.

According to the sources, Madrid is still confident in winning the race for the young centre-back because he wants to play for Los Blancos. This is true even though Madrid hasn’t made a formal offer to sign the French star and is hoping to reach an agreement with Lille for a small amount less.

Additionally, sources told ESPN that although United is aware of the player’s desire to play for Real Madrid, they still want to compel Lille to accept their higher-than-expected offer. Yoro needs to be sold this summer for the French club to avoid losing him for free the next summer. Yoro’s contract with Lille expires in June 2025, and he has no intention of renewing it.

Real, on the other hand, has not yet agreed to Lille’s asking price; their initial offer was for roughly £17 million, less than half of United’s. Although Yoro will eventually make the decision, it is believed that Lille is pressuring him to join United because they have more money available.

In response to the United development on Tuesday night, an X account using Yoro’s persona tweeted: “I don’t want you Manchester United.” Just give me some space. Yoro, however, responded by tweeting from his own account, saying, “Fake account.” It’s crazy, you guys. This account should be reported or signalled.
