Italian superpower AC Milan had long been interested in Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, but Manchester United has overtaken them in the chase for the 23-year-old after AC Milan was unable to come to a deal with Bologna. CaughtOffside sources that are aware of the current circumstances claim that the player and the Red Devils have come to a personal terms deal.
Talks over how Bologna would like Zirkzee’s £34 million release fee to be paid are reportedly ongoing at the moment. CO has not released the contract’s figures, but new reports indicate that the player who currently only makes roughly £19,000 a week may be getting up to £98,000 a week in pay from the deal.
Zirkzee rejected Arsenal to move to Manchester United
Zirkzee is reportedly in high demand and wants to sign with AC Milan, Man United, and Arsenal. Despite Arsenal’s interest, it is said that United is better advanced in terms of closing the transaction. According to reports, Zirkzee is willing to reject Arsenal’s approach in order to finalize a deal with United.
Zirkzee’s top aim is to join the Red Devils at Old Trafford, and the article even goes so far as to say that he will reject any proposal from Arsenal should they decide to enter the competition. The player’s current contract is slated to expire in the summer of 2026; he signed a four-year deal in 2022 after arriving in Italy.
