Manchester United needs a left-back for the upcoming season after two of their best options for the position were sidelined for much of the campaign. Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed to GIVEMESPORT that the Red Devils are “genuinely” interested in Bournemouth youngster Milos Kerkez as they look to bolster their roster in advance of the following campaign.
Last summer, Bournemouth paid roughly £15 million to AZ Alkmaar for Kerkez, who was acquired on a “long-term contract”. He played his first season in English football, making 33 games across all competitions, 28 of which were in the Premier League. While acknowledging United’s genuine interest, Romano also mentioned that the team is still evaluating alternative options for the left-back position.
Man Utd genuinely wants to sign Euro 2024 flop as INEOS eye fourth transfer
As they look to bolster Ten Hag’s left side of defense, Kerkez is one of the choices available to the Red Devils, who are genuinely interested, according to Fabrizio Romano. Before making any judgments, Romano continues, INEOS is now analyzing the market, but Kerkez is in the running for a blockbuster move.
His seamless adaptation to the Premier League has caught the eye of United, who might push ahead with a move if Erik ten Hag decides to bolster the left-back position with young talent. The arrival of INEOS as minority owners is expected to boost the club’s transfer activity, aiming to strengthen the squad comprehensively. In addition to Kerkez, United are linked with several other players, including Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, and Joshua Zirkzee.
