Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea is reportedly the target of Manchester United’s surprise bid after the defender was cruelly excluded from the Blues’ preseason trip. According to reports, Manchester United are really interested in Trevoh Chalobah, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is intent on signing another centre-back this summer.
During the summer transfer window, the Red Devils have been very busy, spending around £90 million to get Leny Yoro from Lille and Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. Although they have been connected to Chelsea defender Chalobah, who can also play right-back, he made 17 appearances last season after returning from a thigh injury that kept him out for several months. Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt are believed to be among their primary targets.
Man United stance in bringing £25m Chelsea talent to Old Trafford
Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is an inexpensive option for Man United to consider if their main targets fail to materialize. The Red Devils are still in the transfer market looking for a center-back. It is reported that Man United has genuine interest in the 25-year-old defender, for whom the West London club is looking for proposals in the neighbourhood of £25 million.
According to a Ben Jacobs article, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s versatility as a centre back makes a transfer to West Ham United much more alluring. Manchester United would be wise to sign Chalobah because the defender is not only adaptable and Premier League-ready, but also won’t break the bank.
