Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna is the main striker that Manchester United is after, as reported by Sky Sports. Zirkzee has been identified as the best option by the Red Devils as they look to add another striker to complement Rasmus Hojlund.

According to reports, the team is very interested in acquiring Zirkzee from Bologna. The 23-year-old’s deal has a £34 million release clause. The team has previously stated that they would like to sign him, but teams like AC Milan and Arsenal will compete with them. United may now have the chance to sign him, even though Zirkzee is determined to play in Serie A the next season.

Manchester United clears Bologna Striker as a top summer target

With 37 games in all competitions, the 23-year-old recorded 12 goals and seven assists during a strong second season with Bologna. Notwithstanding their Champions League qualification, Zirkzee is expected to depart Bologna. Apparently, Fabrizio Romano reported that player is “super keen” on the Milan project and “happy to stay” in Italy. Zirkzee, if Man Utd can persuade him to transfer to Old Trafford, would undoubtedly be a wise addition this summer.

While the Rossoneri are willing to pay his release clause over a number of installments, they are currently facing a roadblock due to Kia Joorabchian, his agent, requesting an enormous £13 million commission. Despite Zirkzee’s excellent status, it is improbable that he will transfer to Old Trafford. He may want a starting spot secured in addition to his preference for Milan.
