According to reports, during the winter transfer window, Manchester United would try to recruit El Chadaille Bitshiabu, a 20-year-old French defensive prodigy from Bundesliga team RB Leipzig.
A report from the French publication L’Equipe claims that Manchester United is interested in El Chadaille Bitshiabu. During the winter transfer window, the Red Devils are eager to add a centre-back to bolster their defence. Thus, they have made the 20-year-old RB Leipzig defender their aim.
During the winter transfer window, the Frenchman might be signed by the Premier League’s top players on loan with a buyout option from the Bundesliga team. However, Lyon, AS Monaco, and Bayer Leverkusen will compete fiercely with Manchester United for Bitshiabu’s services.
With almost 50 appearances for the Bundesliga team thus far, the French defensive prodigy has steadily gained prominence at RB Leipzig. Manchester United is one of the potential suitors fighting for Bitshiabu’s signing during the winter transfer window, despite the fact that he is not a regular for Die Roten Bullen.
Man United plot shock transfer for Leipzig defender
The 20-year-old centre back matches the description of a contemporary defender with his commanding 6’5″ size and exceptional athleticism. Leipzig, which he joined from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, can play a high line because of his ability to cover broad areas and his comfort when pressed wide to defend the channels.
In the top five leagues in Europe, he ranks in the 85th percentile for progressive passes and the 86th percentile for attempted passes, demonstrating his skill with the ball at his feet.
United is “keeping tabs” on the Frenchman with interest in a loan move that would include a buyout option, according to French publication L’Equipe (as reported by GFFN).
However, the Mancunian team must contend with competition from Bayer Leverkusen and Ligue 1 rivals Monaco and Lyon in order to persuade the Leipzig mainstay to pursue Old Trafford as the next phase of his developing career.
