Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was furious with Harry Maguire after being struck by his captain during victory over Norwich

United defeated relegation-threatened Norwich 3-2 at Old Trafford to remain in contention for a top-four finish and a place in the Champions League.

Pogba seemed enraged with his captain when Maguire accidently smacked him in the head while leaping for the ball in a corner.

The event occurred just after the hour mark, after Alex Telles had swung in the ball. Cristiano Ronaldo, who had a hat-trick on the day, jumped and met the ball, but it was securely collected by Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Maguire was jumping with Ronaldo for the ball when he inadvertently collided with a leaping Norwich defender.

After Harry Maguire’s studs touched him on the head, Paul Pogba drew blood.

As he dropped to the ground, his right leg sprang up and hit Pogba on the back of his head.

Before a United physician arrived to check the player, the midfielder instantly grasped his head in anguish. Pogba was visibly upset while being evaluated, with the Frenchman looking furiously into the distance.

Prior to the medic’s arrival, Ronaldo served as a mediator to attempt to calm Pogba down, who was visibly upset with Maguire. While the French international was motioning over to Maguire, who had returned to the United side, the Portuguese was seen placing his arm around Pogba.
