Manchester United are keen on signing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The asking price for the Serbian international has apparently been reduced to 80 million euros (down from the previous 120 million), thus a few of prominent European teams other than Manchester United, especially Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in signing him.

The asking price for the Serbian international has apparently been reduced to 80 million euros (down from the previous 120 million), thus a few of prominent European teams other than Manchester United, especially Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in signing him.

Milinkovic-Savic joined Lazio from Genk in the summer of 2015 after rising through the ranks at Serbian club Vojvodina. Over the previous eight years, the midfielder has made 291 appearances with the Eagles, scoring 57 goals and providing 51 assists in all competitions. This season, the 27-year-old has 10 goals and eleven assists, hitting double digits in both categories for the first time in his career.

When their contracts expire, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, and Jesse Lingard are all expected to depart the club during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, the Mc-Fred double pivot has repeatedly failed the team down. There are just too many gaps to be filled in order to get this dysfunctional side back on track.

Under these conditions, Savic’s presence at The Theatre of Dreams will certainly bolster Ten Hag’s midfield department, and he might be one of the many pieces the Dutch coach requires to stabilise United’s midfield activities.

At 27, the Lleida-born midfielder has a lot to offer, so it wouldn’t be shocking if the club goes all-in to sign him.
