Reports have claimed Manchester United to be the clear favourites to land Leicester City ace, James Maddison this summer, over the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
The other two Premier League heavy hitters have enjoyed rewarding campaigns this past year but the Red Devils have the upper hand when it comes to the attacking midfielder. Maddison is valued at £60m and his odds of ending up at Old Trafford next season has been lifted to 4/11 by Betway.
United are desperately looking to revamp their current squad with Ed Woodward set to sanction a huge treasure chest for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Their disappointing final run of the 2018/19 season has led them to believe that their present lineup is simply not good enough to compete for the Premier League title.
Their most creative player, Paul Pogba has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Juventus and Real Madrid are his top potential destinations and United could be forced to see if the player expresses a desire a leave.
Maddison has jumped into the limelight after just one season in the Premier League. The 22-year-old racked up 7 goals and 7 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
He could be the team’s driving force next season from the central number ten position. He is much more needed by the Red Devils than he is by Liverpool or Manchester City. That particular aspect could very well decide where he decides to move this summer.
