Manchester United has officially confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this June.
Casemiro to Depart Manchester United After Contract Ends
The club released the statement ahead of schedule after agreeing to the veteran player’s request for early clarity on his future.
The Brazilian international, now 33, joined United from Real Madrid in August 2022.
Knowing when stages come to an end.
Knowing when to say goodbye when you feel that you will be remembered and respected forever.
Four months to give my all for this badge and for our goal.
Eternal respect and affection for Manchester United and its wonderful fans.

The deal, which could have reached £70 million with add-ons, saw him sign a four-year contract with an option for an additional season.
However, the Press Association reports that the club has chosen not to activate that extension clause.
This decision brings a swift conclusion to Casemiro’s impactful but relatively short stint at Old Trafford.
A key figure in his first season, he helped the team secure the Carabao Cup in 2023. His departure signals a clear shift in the club’s midfield planning under the current leadership.
In a statement, Casemiro expressed his enduring connection to the club.
“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life,” he said.
Striking a positive note about his remaining time, he added, “It is not time to say goodbye. There are many more memories to create during the next four months.”
His words indicate a commitment to finishing the current campaign strongly before his exit.
The announcement allows both the player and the club to plan for the future with certainty.
For United, it opens a significant space in the squad and wage bill as they prepare for a summer rebuild, while Casemiro can now evaluate his next career move, with potential interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
His focus will now turn to contributing to United’s push for European qualification in his final months.
