Manchester United considering a move for Lyon ace

Jose Mourinho wants to sign a young midfieder

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware.

The Red Devils are expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window and have started the transfer window in an excellent way.

They have already completed two signings, teenage full-back Diogo Dalot has signed from Porto, while a £52.5 million fee has been agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazil international Fred.

Though Jose Mourinho signed the Brazilian as a replacement for Michael Carrick but is keen to add another young midfielder before the transfer window closes. Marouane Fellaini likely to leave the club on a free transfer next month as he is yet to agree a new contract extension and the club wants someone to replace him.

Manchester United are considering a summer move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to ManchesterEveningNews.

The 21 year joined the French side from Amiens on a season long loan in 2017. They paid €2 million for the loan and also secured an option to sign him permanently for €8 million, plus a possible €250,000 in bonuses and 20% of any profit made should he be transferred to another club.

They confirmed the youngster’s signature earlier this summer after a successful loan spell. He was a crucial player for them last season, scoring a goal and assisting 6 in 50 appearances in all competitions and helping his team to finish third in the league.

But the Ligue 1 giants are reluctant to sell him and would be open to sell if United could meet the touted €50 million price-tag reportedly set by the club.

Manchester City, Juventus and Tottenham all have shown interest in him and are keeping tabs on his situation.
