Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the Red Devils are not in need of superstar signings to win the Premier League. The Norweigan gaffer is yet to lose a match since taking charge as the interim manager in December and United’s last win against Fulham has seen them take the fourth spot in the Premier League table ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal.

However, Solskjaer has also said that it will take at least two years for the Red Devils to compete for the Premier League title once again. Speaking to the media, the former Champions League winner said, “I think we’re too far behind this year, obviously. You’ve got to catch up with the other teams ahead of us, especially Manchester City and Liverpool, but now Tottenham – they’re really in the running as well.”

When asked how many players he will need to accomplish the mission of winning the Premier League title, the Norweigan said, “I think it is about who we’ve got here as well. If every single player can improve by one or two per cent, then that makes a difference.”

He concluded, “It is not about bringing in a certain number of players. It has to be the right one and one who fits; the personality has to fit with the team. It is not just a case of buying a superstar and that will fix things, and that suddenly we will go from challenging to being top four and be champions.”
