Manchester United is one of the best performing English clubs in European competitions. They have three UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup, one UEFA Europa Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and also one EU SA Cup.

Manchester United: All European Final Appearances:

  1. European Champions Clubs’ Cup Final, 1968
    Venue: Wembley, London
    Manchester United 4-1 Benfica

First Champions League title (European Champions Clubs’ Cup then) win for Manchester United came in their very first final. Charlton scored first (53’) against Benfica. Graça (79’) equalized for Benfica and the game proceeded to extra time. But in Extra time it was all about the Red Devils. Best (92’), Kidd (94’) gave extra time lead and then Charlton’s second (99’) made in 4-1 for Manchester united.

  1. UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, 1991
    Venue: Feijenoord Stadion, Rotterdam
    Manchester United 2-1 Barcelona

Manchester United CF Mark Hughes’ second-half brace (67’, 74’) helped the English club win the game and the Cup against Spanish giants Barcelona. Koeman (79’) pulled one back for Barcelona but it wasn’t enough.

    Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester
    Manchester United 1-0 Red Star Belgrade

Manchester United had the home advantage. Scottish CF McClaire scored the only goal of the match in the 67’ minute of the match. This was the first (till now the last UEFA Super Cup ) won by the Red Devils.

    Manchester United 2-1 Bayern Munich

The game had a very thrilling end to it. Basler (6’) scored early for Bayern Munich. It looked like the game was going to end in favor of the German side. However, in the injury-time two Manchester United substitutes had other ideas. Sheringham scored in 90+1’ to level the game and then another sub Solskjær scored in the 90+3’ to win the game for Manchester United. This was their 2nd Champions League title.

This was United’s first defeat in a European final. Marcelo Salas replaced Simone Inzaghi early in the game (23’) and Salas went on to score the only goal of the match (3’) for Lazio.

    Manchester United 1(6)-1(5) Chelsea

It was an intense all English final. Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 26th minute but Frank Lampard (45’) canceled it out in the first half itself. The game went into extra time where Chelsea’ Drogba saw a red. There was no result after the extra time too. The game went into penalty-shootout and Manchester United emerged victoriously. They lifted their third Champions League title.

    Manchester United 1-2 Zenit Saint Petersburg

Once again Stade Louis II was unlucky for Manchester United.  Pavel Pogrebnyak(44’) and  Danny (59’) scored for Zenit. Vidic (73’) scored for United but it wasn’t enough.

It was a pretty comfortable win for Barcelona. Eto’o (10’) scored early and the Messi (70’) made it 2-0 for Barcelona. This was Manchester United’s first UEFA Champions League final defeat.

Manchester United suffered their second consecutive UEFA Champions League final defeat. Pedro (27’) opened the scoring for Barcelona. Wayne Rooney (34’) equalized quickly and the game looked balanced. But Messi (54’) and Villa (69’) took the game away from United.

    Ajax 0-2 Manchester United

Manchester United won their first UEFA Europa League title in 2017. They defeated Ajax, thanks to goals from Pogba (18’) and Mkhitaryan (48’).

    Real Madrid 2-1 Manchester United

This match marked the third consecutive UEFA Super Cup defeat for Manchester United. Casemiro (24’) and Isco (52’) scored for the Whites while Lukaku (62’) scored the only goal for the Red Devils
