Manchester United FC new signing Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United have taken the option to trigger the one year extension in Anthony Martial’s contract.

The youngster’s contract was due to expire at the end of this season but United have now secured another year of service from the player. Martial has been discussing fresh terms with the club but is yet to agree to a new deal.

The French international wasn’t on Jose Mourinho’s good books and was on the verge of leaving the Old Trafford. But despite the growing speculation the youngster decided to give it another shot and the results have been pretty fascinating this term.

The 23 year old has gone onto establish his authority with eight goals in all competitions this term. The forward has been the shining light in United’s erratic campaign and is likely to extend his stay at the Old Trafford.

United also extended David De Gea’s contract by a year using the one year clause in the contract. Both the players have proved their credentials already and negotiations over a new deal have been going on in full swing.

Martial arrived from Monaco in 2015 and was one of the costliest young players in the transfer market that time.
