Manchester United preparing a £60 million bid for Chelsea star

Manchester United have taken the first steps towards a summer move for Nicolas Jackson, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Chelsea striker is “really tempting” for the Red Devils and has made contact with his camp.

Fabrizio Romano: £100m Chelsea Striker Tempted by Manchester United Switch

The 24-year-old Senegalese forward is open to the move even without Champions League football and Chelsea have already approached Manchester United to discuss the deal.

Jackson, valued by reports at around £100 million, has become surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Despite this, Fabrizio Romano notes that while nothing has been finalised yet, the striker remains a “name to watch” during the last month of the window.

What makes this deal particularly intriguing is Chelsea’s openness to a swap involving Alejandro Garnacho.

United and Chelsea have reportedly exchanged details, with Garnacho being offered as part of the structure for a potential Jackson-to-Old Trafford transfer.

Garnacho himself is keen on a move, making this scenario more than just tentative discussions.

Despite lacking Champions League football next season, Jackson is said to welcome a Manchester United switch, understanding that rebuilding opportunities and playing time could revitalize his career.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have stated they will only consider transactions on their own terms not under financial duress.

The Red Devils, focused on bolstering their striker options after deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, are still deciding their top target.

Jackson’s form 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea has surely added to his market appeal and now positions him as a realistic contender.

At this stage, United remain mindful of Premier League financial rules. They may need to offload members of their so-called “bomb squad” first.

Jackson remains patient, waiting for Manchester United to firm up their interest—or risk seeing the window close without a move.
