Manchester United Forward Managing Barcelona Interests By Stalling Contract Talks

According to the latest reports, Marcus Rashford is stalling on a brand new contract with Manchester United.

The England international has been a subject of significant interest from Barcelona as a potential long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. While the Blaugrana have not come forward with an official bid just yet, they might be provoked into making a move soon.

Rashford’s current £75,000-per-week deal is set to end in July 2020 but the Red Devils do have an option to extend. Ed Woodward is not willing to let the youngster’s future dangle in the air due to which an offer worth £200,000-per-week has been forwarded.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best prospects to have come out of the United academy. He has gone on to score 13 goals in 42 games this season and has also managed 9 assists.

Rashford has blossomed under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, tying down a starting spot over in the final third. He can play in various positions and has the potential to become one of the club’s greats if he chooses to stay.

However, signing a young forward like him to such an expensive deal is not the most ideal for the Red Devils. They are already paying Alexis Sanchez a record fee of around £500,000-per-week with the headache of having to meet David De Gea’s sky-high demands as well.
