Manchester United Front Three Called 'A Joke' After Sheffield Draw

Gary Neville slammed the Manchester United front line of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James after 3-3 draw against Sheffield United.

Ole Solskjaer’s side were 2-0 down after a very poor first half performance at Bramall Lane.

Co-commentating on Sky Sports, Neville said, “The lack of movement from Martial, Rashford and James is a joke. It really is an absolute joke. All game. Nothing at all from them.

“Manchester United’s midfield is poor, but you expect better from that front three. If you asked [Sheffield United boss] Chris Wilder to swap [David] McGoldrick and [Lys] Mousset for Martial and Rashford, he would say ‘no’”.

The Red Devils completely changed their gameplan in the second half and managed to take the lead 3-2. It was late into injury time when Ollie McBurnie equalized for Sheffield and stole a point away from United.

While United led 3-2, Neville added continued, “I called them a joke 15 minutes ago, that front three. Their movement was awful, non-existent. They weren’t even good out of possession, they weren’t closing down Sheffield United, but they have quality. These last ten minutes they’ve come to life.”

Manchester United dropped to the 9th spot after Sunday’s showdown and are due to face Astana in the Europa League on Thursday.
