In 2010, Onana enrolled in Barcelona’s youth programme. In 2015, he joined Ajax, where he made 214 games and captured three Eredivisie championships. In his lone season at the club, Onana won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana while also making it to the Champions League final after joining Inter Milan on a free transfer in July 2022. Then, in 2023, Onana was acquired by Manchester United for an initial sum of £43.8 million.

From 2016 to 2022, Onana participated in 34 international matches for the national team of Cameroon.

On 16 July 2023, it was announced that Onana had reached a personal agreement with Manchester United for a five-year contract after discussions with the club earlier in the month. Onana rejoined Erik ten Hag, his former coach at Ajax, after Manchester United completed the signing on July 20 for an initial £43.8 million fee with Inter and a potential £3.4 million in add-ons.

Manchester United need a backup option after allowing David De Gea to leave the club in the previous summer. Andre Onana became the first-choice goalkeeper at Man United. Bayındır joined the club on the deadline day of the summer transfer window on an initial four-year deal, with an option to extend his contract for a further season. He was the first Turkish player to sign for the club. 

Meanwhile, there is a rumour that the Turkish goalkeeper will leave the club at the end of the season. He has signed an agreement with another club to leave the club in the summer. He made his debut recently during the FA Cup tie against Newport County, becoming the first Turkish player to feature for the club.

Heaton began his football career with the Manchester United Under-17 team as he signed for United as a trainee in 2002. 

Heaton spent the 2007–08 season with the first team-squad at Manchester United, appearing on the bench when Edwin van der Sar was out due to injury. 

Following his release from Aston Villa, Heaton agreed to return to Manchester United in 2021. He signed a two-year contract with the option of an extra year. In December 2021, he made his first-team debut when he replaced Dean Henderson in the 68th minute of the 2021–22 Champions League game against Young Boys. He is a backup Manchester United goalkeeper.

The England international has not played a single minute for the Red Devils since his arrival in January. Now that Tom Heaton is out for the remainder of the season, Butland will be a regular among the substitutes in upcoming games. He is now one step closer to making his debut for Manchester United.

Lee Grant was the third summer signing for former manager Jose Mourinho alongside Fred and Diogo Dalot. The 36 year old arrived from Stoke City to play as the second fiddle to David De Gea and Sergio Romero.

The veteran goalie is known for his stupendous display in the English second tier. Having played over 350 games in the Championship he is regarded as one of the most underrated goalkeepers in English football.

Grant has made only one brief appearance for United in the Carabao Cup third-round defeat to Derby County. On the contrary, Romero has been pretty regular in the cup competitions for United with the opportunities that he’s been given in the FA Cup and other competitions.

In July 2021, the Englishman signed a contract extension with Manchester United until the end of the 2021–22 season.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson joined Manchester United first-team from the U23 squad in 2020. 

He was signed to add more competition to De Gea and has been the undisputed deputy to the Spaniard. Henderson joined the Manchester United academy aged 14, having spent six years at Carlisle United. He first joined the academy in August 2011. He became a regular goalkeeper for the U18 team in the 2013–14 season. 

In the summer of 2020, The Englishman was added to Manchester United’s senior squad list for the first time. He signed a 5-year long-term contract at Manchester United. He made his first-team debut in the third round of the League Cup against Luton Town and he kept a clean sheet in a 3–0 win.

Henderson was called up to the senior England squad for the first time by manager Gareth Southgate as a replacement for the injured Tom Heaton in 2019. He made his international debut in 2020 in a 3–0 win over the Republic of Ireland. 

Henderson was also included in England’s 26-man squad for the Euro 2020 but he withdrew due to a hip injury.

David De Gea joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid as United shelled a whopping £28.6 m to acquire his service. He left the club as free agent in 2023. 

He was roped in to fill in the shoes of  Edwin van der Sar who had been the preferred choice in the United goal. The 28-year-old had a tough time in acclimatising to the rough nature of the Premier League. But in the last few seasons, he has been a revelation for United and has undoubtedly been Premier League’s best goalkeeper with his extraordinary shot-stopping skills.

The Spanish custodian came through the Academy of Atletico Madrid and broke into the senior team back in 2009. His excellent form hadn’t gone unnoticed and then United manager Sir Alex Ferguson went ahead to sign him from the Spanish club.

A regular for Spain during the 2018 World Cup, De Gea has also won the Premier League, FA Cup and the Europa League during his stint at the Old Trafford. He received the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons from 2013-14 to 2015-16.

De Gea guided the Spanish U21 side to two European Championships in 2011 and 2013. The United keeper was on the verge of moving to Real Madrid in 2015 but the deal collapsed due to a fault in the fax machine and he went on to sign a four-year contract extending his association with the club. 

He got the extension of his contract till 2023. He became the first-choice goalkeeper for United in 2020/21. He also started five of Manchester United’s six Champions League group matches. He kept clean sheets in the two matches against Granada in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
