According to Ben Jacobs, senior journalist for GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United is thinking about making a late summer move for Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller. The Germany international has been identified by the Red Devils as a possible addition to their midfield, and internal talks are still going on over a number of names.
United has not yet identified their next specific transfer target after negotiations for Brighton striker Carlos Baleba broke down. When Ruben Amorim’s team discovered Brighton’s high expectations, which are said to cost approximately £120 million, they gave up on the 21-year-old.
With fewer than two weeks until the transfer deadline, the Old Trafford team is also monitoring the goalkeeping market, with Royal Antwerp star Senne Lammens still a possibility.
In an article on X, Jacobs stated that although internal talks are underway over a number of possible targets, there is no assurance that Man United would make a deal for a new midfield player after their unsuccessful pursuit of Baleba.
According to reports, Stiller’s name was brought up during those discussions. Man United is now anticipated to make a decision about the signing of a new midfield player before the transfer deadline on September 1.
Man United have looked at Angelo Stiller
Angelo Stiller, a holding midfielder for Stuttgart and the German national team, is one player the Red Devils are rumored to be interested in.
Journalist Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports claims that although Man United is considering Stiller as a midfield option, they have not yet contacted him about a trade. “Manchester United is still searching for a midfield player during this transfer window,” Sheth stated.
“The club has looked at and likes the player, Angelo Stiller of Stuttgart. But there hasn’t been any club-to-club interaction, so it hasn’t progressed beyond the initial curiosity. The 24-year-old midfield player, whose contract with Stuttgart expires in June 2028, is presently valued at about £39 million.
Although the Bundesliga team’s willingness to trade Stiller is yet unknown, they are probably going to be hesitant because he is a vital player.
He made 47 appearances for Stuttgart last season, contributing 11 assists and four goals—very good stats for a midfielder with a defensive mindset. He assisted Stuttgart in finishing in the middle of the Bundesliga last season.
