Manchester United have been offered Marco Veratti

The Italian international apparently wants out of the Parc des Princes

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware. Their priority is to add defensive reinforcements and will look to sell few players in order to accommodate new signings.

Jose Mourinho is also keen to add a holding midfielder as Micheal Carrick have retired from the club at the end of the season. The club already have a deal in place for Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred with the finishing touches being put on a move to England and is expected to join them after the World Cup in Russia.

But the Red Devils have been linked with a move for another midfielder as Marouane Fellaini’s future is still unknown. Now they well have the opportunity to add another – and one whom Mourinho really covets.

According to reports from Calcio Mercato, United have been offered the chance to take PSG midfielder Marco Verratti this summer. The Italy international apparently wants out of the Parc des Princes and his agent, Mino Raiola, is looking to make that happen.

It is believed that the 25 year old recently met with new boss Thomas Tuchel and the manager assured him that he will be an important player for next season. But reportedly told him to lose weight.

The player’s representative is looking to offer him to European giants like Juventus and Real Madrid.

Verratti joined the Ligue 1 champions from Pescara in 2012, signing a 5 year contract. He has been a mainstay in the team since then and is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world.
