The player’s representative claimed that he wants to leave the club

Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from Monaco for £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million, on a four-year contract with the option of another year in 2015. Since then he has been an integral part of the team and is considered one of the best young talents in the world.

The France International started last season off brightly and was regular during the first half of the season under Jose Mourinho. But since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window from Arsenal, he has found minutes harder to come by and has started only 6 games since the Chilean joined.

It is believed that the 22 year is frustrated with the lack of game and could look for a summer exit in order for more first team football. He also missed a place in France World Cup squad which further intensified the speculations.

He has been linked with many clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham Chelsea and Juventus ahead of the summer transfer window,  who has a year left on his contract and United have the option to extend by another season.

Martial’s representative Philippe Lamboley claimed that the player wants to leave the club this summer on Tuesday.

“After considering all possibilities and options, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,” He explained.

“There are many reasons, for now it is too early to discuss it. Anthony will talk soon to go through that.

“Man United want to extend Anthony’s deal and they do not want him to leave, but we have not come to an agreement for several months. I think that when Man United, who are the most powerful club, cannot come to an agreement after eight months it is because they really don’t want to make him a key player.

“The decision is related to that. It is a decision that has been thought through thoroughly. However, it is important to remember that he is under contract, Man United have the last word and we will respect the club’s decision.”

But Manchester United are not looking to sell Anthony Martial and he is part of their plans for the new season, Sky sources understand. They are determined not to sell him even after his agent’s comments and believes he will be a key player in the future.
