Manchester United have made a bold move to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, joining the growing list of clubs chasing the Argentine star.

The Red Devils have reportedly contacted Alvarez’s agent directly, according to Argentine journalist Marcos Duran, as they explore a potential summer transfer for the 26-year-old.
However, United face an uphill battle to secure his signature. Alvarez dropped a bombshell this week when he publicly declared his desire to leave Atletico Madrid, with Barcelona identified as his “dream” destination.
“I spoke with the people I needed to speak with and the best thing for everyone is a transfer. I want to fulfil my dream,” Alvarez said following Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Austria.
The former Manchester City star has already rejected approaches from both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. His commitment to joining Barcelona has seen Arsenal “completely rule out” a move for the striker.
Atletico Madrid are furious with Barcelona’s aggressive pursuit of their player, which they view as a public campaign to unsettle Alvarez.
The Spanish club have blasted the Catalan giants on social media and plan to report them to FIFA over their conduct.
Despite Alvarez’s clear preference for Barcelona, United have positioned themselves as potential suitors.
The Red Devils are desperate for attacking reinforcements and see Alvarez as an ideal addition to their forward line.

His priority is Barcelona, and that makes any approach from Manchester United extremely difficult to progress.”
