The Croatian could finally get to play in the Premier League.

Manchester United and Juventus are reported to have reached a “verbal agreement” over a deal for Mario Mandzukic.

Manchester United are having to endure a long and painful international break as they sit just two points above the relegation zone.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have started the 2019/20 campaign terribly, picking up just nine points from their opening eight games. They have scored seven goals in their last 10 matches in all competitions and haven’t won an away match since March.

Despite spending almost €170 million in the summer, the Red Devils are set to dip into the transfer market come January. And, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Mario Mandzukic is set to depart Juventus in January having already “reached a verbal agreement” with Manchester United over a switch to Old Trafford.

The Croatia striker was a target for the English side late in the summer after they let Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez join Inter Milan.

It has been said that Mandzukic felt too rushed to make a decision over his future before the deadline, but his lack of game time for the Bianconeri coupled with United’s attacking woes has reignited belief that a winter deal could be on the cards.

The report goes on to state that United will have to spend €11 million for the Croat to arrive. They would also try to make him move to England before the end of this year to give him time to acclimatize to his new surroundings before being registered to play at the earliest opportunity in 2020.

The 33-year-old striker already turned down a lucrative move to Qatar and has been offered a chance to play for Los Angeles Football Club in the MLS.
