According to rumours in Spain, Manchester United has shown interest in re-signing Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon. Following the injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, the club had no recognized left-back in the lineup. Reguilon joined United on loan from Spurs in September of last year. After spending the second part of the season at Brentford, the Spaniard’s loan period was terminated in January.
According to AS, the former Real Madrid young player still has one year left on his Tottenham deal but is expected to leave the team permanently this summer. He would love to stay in the Premier League, though, and according to the source, West Ham United and Manchester United are both interested in recruiting the 27-year-old this summer.
Sergio Reguilon keen on Man Utd return
According to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Sergio Reguilon, a former Tottenham Hotspur, is eager to rejoin Manchester United this summer. Reguilon has been on loan at Brentford for the past six months, but Romano claims that United has not yet moved forward with a contract for him.
Meanwhile, with no first-team left-backs in the squad as United gets ready for the new campaign, Red Devils youngsters Sam Murray and Harry Amass have an opportunity to establish themselves.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano hinted that Reguilon would be open to returning to Old Trafford this summer. However, Manchester United has not decided whether to offer the £32 million Spaniard another chance.
