According to reports from the Sun, Manchester United will make an attempt to sign Aston Villa’s John McGinn.

McGinn played a key role in Aston Villa’s run to Premier League promotion. The Scot netted 9 goals and provided 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. McGinn scored Villa’s second goal in their Championship play-off final win over Derby County.

McGinn’s performances for Aston Villa has attracted the attention of Manchester United and the club are eager to sign the 24-year old.

Manchester United have already made two summer signings in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and are eager to make more signings during the summer. With Ander Herrera leaving the club and Paul Pogba on the brink of a departure, Manchester United could do with some reinforcements in the midfield. McGinn is generally a central midfielder but can also operate as an attacking midfielder.

Aston Villa however, won’t be willing to let go of McGinn for cheap and have reportedly valued him at £50 million.
