According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 19-year-old is highly rated by transfer chiefs at United, and he has an estimated price tag of around £34m.

The Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle United have joined the race to sign the teenage Frenchman, with the Magpies seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Kieran Trippier.

Dean Jones said: “Yeah, Malo Gusto in particular is attracting a lot of interest in England. Man Utd are quite keen on him as well. These are players who get circulated at the same time, as agents start doing their work, and they’re always ones you have to bear in mind.”
