Manchester United have ramped up their pursuit of Brentford’s in‑form forward Bryan Mbeumo, submitting a third improved offer worth £65 million up front plus £5 million in add‑ons, valuing the deal at around £70 million in total.
Final Offer: Man Utd Ready to Walk Away if Brentford Reject Mbeumo Bid
This follows back‑to‑back rejections of their earlier bids—initially £55 million plus £7.5 million in extras, then a move close to the £62.5 million paid for Matheus Cunha, neither of which met Brentford’s valuation or payment structure criteria.
Brentford have insisted on a significant portion of the fee being paid immediately, and are now evaluating the latest proposal carefully.
Mbeumo, 25, who netted 20 Premier League goals last season and contributed seven assists, has reportedly made his preference clear: he wants Old Trafford.
He has also conveyed to Brentford that he considers the current bid fair and hopes for a swift conclusion, ideally before United depart for their U.S. pre‑season tour.
From United’s perspective, this appears to be a decisive moment. According to Ben Jacobs, the club views the latest bid as their “final offer”—either Brentford accept it, or United are prepared to walk away and turn their attention to alternative targets if negotiations stall further.
United’s urgency stems from a dismal 2024–25 season—scoring just 44 league goals, they desperately need attacking reinforcements to support Rasmus Højlund, who managed only four league goals in the past campaign.
Brentford, meanwhile, are working on identifying a replacement in case Mbeumo departs, reportedly targeting Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town as part of their planning.
As both clubs await Brentford’s response, the coming days feel decisive.
If accepted, Mbeumo could be integrated into United’s squad in time for the friendlies in the United States. If rejected, the Red Devils may shift course toward other transfer targets.
