Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is relaxed amidst rumors linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Portuguese star was a reported target for the United hierarchy in the summer of 2019. However, he was also on the radar of several other clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and even Liverpool.

Ultimately, the player stayed at the club but with the January transfer window approaching again, Bruno could be set for a move to England again.

United are lacking serious manpower in midfield. With Pogba injured and ready to leave, Manchester United do not have any solid creative player in midfield to take the game forward.

Scott McTominay is only good in terms of defending. Fred is inconsistent. Hence signing Fernandes can be a priority.

However, if the player is to be believed, he has said that he is in no rush to leave Sporting Lisbon.

“I’m not worried at all [about transfer window speculation],” said the 25-year-old.

“Since 2016, there’s been talk about my possible departure.

“I’m well, doing my job and doing the best I can. I have dreams to fulfil but I have no need to force my departure.

“I feel the love here and if I have to leave, I hope I leave good memories.”

United will not be heartened by such facts and will want to keep some back up options ready in case Bruno refuses to join them.

The last two players to play for both Sportling Lisbon and Manchester United were also Portuguese. One was Nani and the other was well, CR7!
