After the Qatar World Cup is over, Manchester United offers a training update

Erik ten Hag has welcomed many of his first-team regulars back to training after their participation in this winter’s World Cup in Qatar as Manchester United gears up for their return to football later this week.

The next United match is tomorrow’s Carabao Cup match against Burnley, which is 38 days after the team’s previous match. Ten Hag is expected to field a reduced team for that game, but most of the players will be available for next week’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

The club has now released an update on players returning from the month-long tournament in Qatar, indicating who is and who is not back in training. This comes ahead of United’s eagerly anticipated return.

Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw, the three English players for United, have all returned to Carrington.

Tyrell Malacia and Facundo Pellistri are also back at the legendary training facility, together with the Brazilian quartet of Antony, Casemiro, and Fred.

One of the top players at the competition, Bruno Fernandes, is back in the gym, but teammate Diogo Dalot was not included in the main group of people.

During Portugal’s final game, the young fullback who had replaced Manchester City star Joao Cancelo as their right-back of choice suffered an injury.

Christian Eriksen is also back on the pitch in Manchester after his Denmark side were, sadly, dealt an early knock in the group stages.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are not back with the team yet after they were only just involved in the thrilling final last weekend.
