The deal is now formally sealed, with the club’s lawyers having approved all contracts.
Orozco will officially join the Premier League side in the summer of 2026 after he turns 18. He will remain with Fortaleza until the transfer is finalized.
Orozco has already made a name for himself on the international youth stage. He captains Colombia’s Under-17 side and led his team to the final of the 2025 CONMEBOL South American U-17 Championship, where they were narrowly defeated by Brazil on penalties.
Despite his youth, he has yet to make a senior appearance for Fortaleza, highlighting United’s strategy of identifying talent early.
This acquisition continues a clear transfer policy for Manchester United, who have aggressively pursued high-potential youngsters in recent windows.
In the past 18 months, the club has brought in several highly rated teenagers, including Chido Obi, Sekou Kone, Ayden Heaven, and Diego Leon.
The deal for Orozco was coordinated by United’s lead scout Giuseppe Antonaccio, who is credited with unearthing the Colombian’s potential.
For a relatively modest fee, United are making a low-risk investment in a player whose value could rise significantly upon joining the club.
This signing provides a positive off-field story for United amid a challenging start to the Premier League season, with the team currently sitting 14th in the table under manager Ruben Amorim.
