Manchester United star backed to thrive at the club by Ander Herrera

The midfielder believes he will take his take his game to another level this term

Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from Monaco for £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million, on a four-year contract with the option of another year in 2015. Since then he has been an integral part of the team and is considered one of the best young talents in the world.

The France International started last season off brightly and was regular during the first half of the season under Jose Mourinho. But since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window from Arsenal, he has found minutes harder to come by and has started only 6 games since the Chilean joined.

He still managed to score 11 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions. He was also awarded the club’s Player of the month three times.

It was thought that the 22 year old could leave the club this summer in order to get more first team football and has been linked with a move to host of clubs. He still has a year left on his contract and the Red Devils have the option to extend it by another year.

But the Frenchman took active part in the pre-season training and played 62 minutes in United’s opening game of pre-season. There were reports that he is well in the club’s plan for the forthcoming season.

Martial’s teammate Ander Herrera has backed him to thrive at the club and believes he will take his game to another level this term.

“He’s very talented,” the Spanish midfielder said as quoted by Sky Sports. “He can be one of the best players in the world and I think he is very focused this season to smash it.

“When you have players like Anthony, like Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, those kind of players that can change the game.

“If one of them cannot play, we have three or four more so we have lots of options. I think we shouldn’t think that any other club in the Premier League has better players because at least we have as good as the opponents.

“Now it’s all about work, confidence, about keep playing like he did today. I am confident with them because they are all amazing players and Anthony looks very sharp.”
