Manchester United could be set to part ways with Alejandro Garnacho this summer after the 20‑year‑old Argentine’s relationship with manager Ruben Amorim reportedly fractured at Old Trafford.

Manchester United star Garnacho eyes staying in the Premier League

According to former scout Mick Brown, Garnacho is eager to remain in the Premier League should he leave the Red Devils.

Garnacho’s situation came to a head after being benched for the Europa League final, where United lost to Tottenham.

Tensions simmered following his public criticism of the club—he described the campaign as “shit”—and an alleged dressing‑room blow‑up with Amorim during their Asia tour.

Amorim reportedly told him bluntly, “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you”.

Despite the fallout, garnacho remains a prized asset. United have slashed the price tag, with valuations shifting between £50 million and as high as £70 million, depending on demand.

Brown confirms the hierarchy are willing to consider English bids, revealing: “United have bought Cunha, they’re bringing in Mbeumo… so it’s clear Garnacho isn’t in the plans, and they’re going to accept offers for him… There are a few English clubs who are interested… Chelsea of course”.

Indeed, Chelsea have emerged as front‑runners alongside Napoli, Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.

BBC Sport reports that Chelsea remain serious despite United’s steep asking price. Fabrizio Romano has noted a last‑minute opportunity may arise if the Blues decide to strike before the window shuts.

Amid growing speculation, Betting markets suggest Napoli lead the odds, though Premier League continuity appears more likely with Villa and Chelsea firmly in the mix.

Mick Brown says Garnacho will weigh all options. “He’s keeping his options open… he’d be interested in staying in the Premier League… but it also wouldn’t surprise me to see him go abroad”.

As United reshape their squad—eyeing striker upgrades like Matheus Cunha and potentially Jean‑Philippe Mateta—Garnacho’s next move may provide the funds they need.

Whether he stays in England or seeks a fresh start abroad, it’s clear, by early June 2025, Garnacho’s next chapter is fast approaching.
