Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is close to signing for Inter Milan as his agent has confirmed that the Belgian is on his way to Milan to sign for the Nerazzurri.

The 26-year old striker’s agent Federico Pastorello posted an image of him and Lukaku on Instagram with the caption reading: “Ready to take off …. direction Milan ?? !!! Inter … we are coming.”

This is enough to suggest that Lukaku will be an Inter Milan player this season and will finally play under Antonio Conte. Conte has been a big admirer of the player and even tried to sign him when he was Chelsea’s manager.

To land Lukaku, Inter Milan will reportedly pay an initial €65 million which could rise to €78 million with add-ons.

The Belgian international will become the Serie A club’s record signing, surpassing Christian Vieri whose transfer from Lazio cost the Nerazzurri €46.48 million, a world record at the time.

Lukaku will be Inter’s 5th summer signing. The Nerazzurri finished 4th in the Serie A last season and this season, have a strong chance of bettering it especially with Lukaku in their squad.

The Belgian had a poor 18/19 season, netting only 15 goals in 45 appearances but his scoring rate for the national team has remained prolific. Lukaku has scored 31 goals in his last 30 internationals.
