Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the top Manchester United summer transfer targets

Manchester United would have to splash a whopping €150 m if they were to bring Kalidou Koulibaly to the Old Trafford, Napoli have confirmed.

The 27 year old has been one of the finest central defenders of recent ties and United are reportedly interested in the player. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to overhaul his backline in the summer and Koulibaly remains the number one choice for the manager.

The Senegalese international penned a new contract back in 2018 extending his stay at the Italian club until 2023. The Naples side are about to take Arsenal in the Europa League quarterfinal second leg and the onus will be on Koulibaly to stop their attacking contingent.

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti said, “The best centre-back in the world? Yes. And he has more room for improvement. He’s worth €150 million and he is non-transferable.

“Koulibaly’s contract will expire in 2023. In 2021 he will have a €150 million release clause, but Napoli do not need to sell, the president does not want to sell and the question does not arise.”
