According to reports, Christian Eriksen is Manchester United’s top summer signing in the summer. Eriksen has been an integral player for Spurs and has done well this season so far. In 20 appearances across all competitions, the Dane has scored 4 goals and has provided 8 assists.

Eriksen’s contract at Tottenham expires in the summer of 2020 and he hasn’t signed a new contract. There were reports that he refused to sign an extension to his  £75000 a week contract. This has alerted several clubs who have shown interest in him. The likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and most recently, Chelsea, are eager to rope in the Danish attacking midfielder.

And now, Manchester United are also among the list of clubs who want to sign Eriksen. There are reports claiming that Real Madrid are thinking of not making a bid for Eriksen. Hence, that’s something that can work in United’s favor. However, given the fact that they haven’t done any transfer business with Tottenham Hotspur since the controversial move of Dimitar Berbatov, it might be very difficult for United to sign him.

Given the fact that Eriksen is a pivotal player in their squad, Tottenham Hotspur will certainly do everything they can to keep him. If they can’t keep him, Spurs will at least try to sell him on a lucrative deal.
