Manchester United Tipped To Sign James Maddison In 2020

Manchester United could sign James Maddison within the next year, according to BBC journalist, David Ornstein.

It is no secret that United are going through a rough patch post Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2012. Plenty of managers have come and gone but none have been able to steady the ship including current boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Backed by a heavy investment strategy, the Red Devils were expected to be in a better place this season but they are not. Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool meant they dropped further down the Premier League table, all the way to the 13th spot.

One of their most obvious problems is creativity and James Maddison has plenty of it. The Leicester City ace entered the Premier League last season and immediately made heads turn.

He has taken on the playmaking role at Leicester with full strength and is already attracting a lot of attention from lot of teams. The doors at Old Trafford seem to be open since the Red Devils don’t have an outright option in attacking midfield.

Paul Pogba usually takes over the responsibility but he is currently recovering from an injury and has made it known (through his agent) that he wishes to leave the club soon. If United were to place a bid for Maddison, it could reach a record amount, given how quickly he has adapted to the top-flight and how important he is to the Foxes.
