The Red Devils could launch a bid in coming weeks
Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window after an underwhelming campaign this season, not winning a single silverware. Their priority is to add defensive reinforcements and club will also look to sell few players to accommodate new signings.
But Jose Mourinho also keen to bolster his forward line this summer as he wants someone to liven up his side’s attack next season, who were the lowest scoring team in the top 4 last season.
The Red Devils are interested in signing Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio this summer, who has enjoyed another successful season at Spain last season.
He joined the Spanish side from Mallorca for a €3.9 million fee, signing a six year deal on December 2014. He remained with his club on loan until the end of the campaign and was again loaned to RCD Espanyol for the whole campaign in the following season.
He returned back to Real for the 2016/2017 season and developed under former manager Zinedine Zidane almost beyond recognition. He has been a key player for the club since then and has established himself as one of the best young talents in the world.
The Spaniard was a regular for the La Liga giants last season, scoring 9 goals and assisting 7 in 48 appearances. He even managed managed to keep the likes of Isco and Gareth Bale out from the Starting XI.
Despite another impressive campaign, it is suggested Asensio could push for a transfer away as he looks to establish himself as a leading player in European football.
But Mourinho’s side could face competition from another Premier League rival.
Manchester United are set to challenge Liverpool for the signature of Marco Asensio, according to  Gol Digital. It is believed they both could bid for him in the coming weeks.
